I worked in the health sector in Belize, mainly focused on projects surrounding maternal, infant, and child health, as well as the prevention and maintenance of non-communicable diseases. I am originally from Raleigh, North Carolina: the best city on earth. I am a graduate of East Carolina University, where I majored in Biology and Hispanic Studies. In college, I was a volunteer EMT, and it was during that experience that I began to think about a career in public health. After graduation, I worked as a Sales and Marketing Coordinator for a small company that promoted medical devices before joining the Peace Corps. I am certainly enjoying the challenges of an unstructured work environment and change-of-pace from corporate life. I am very grateful to have supportive family and friends all over the world who make it that much easier to serve, even under the occasional hardship. I hope you enjoy reading my blog!
